Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
Parental visitation
Good Morning! I have a question in regards to the state of Arizona and it's laws in regards to visitation. I have an almost 18 year old daughter (7-10-90) that is visiting with me since her graduation on 5-22-08. Her father and I share joint custody but she lives with him in Colorado. Our divorce and all hearings take place in Coconino County, Flagstaff, AZ. My question is...since she's almost 18 does he still dictate to her how long she can visit with me? And aren't I allowed my allotted visitation with her? He always was allowed by the courts to have the children for the summer break, am I not entitled to the same policy?

Generally speaking, the current court orders stand until your daughter is emancipated. Since she has already graduated high school, she will be emancipated at her 18th birthday. At that point, she can choose where to live.
