Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Paternal rights in the Maternal rights state of Arizona

My girlfriend and I recently had a beautiful baby girl. I found out she was a Meth addict when CPS stepped in and told us there was a problem. I am now temporarily caring for the baby while the mother goes through treatment, but am finding out that in the state of Arizona the father has no rights unless the couple are married. How do I obtain equal custody, and what papers do I need to file? Thank you

Thank you for your email. You can begin the process to establish rights to the child by filing a Paternity Complaint in the Superior Court.

We offer a free initial consultation, so please contact our office to schedule a time to meet with one of our attorneys about the details of your case.
