Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
Do I still have to pay child support?
I have a daughter who will be 16 years old in January. I have reason to believe that she is living with her boyfriend and the school that she was attending says that she is no longer enrolled. In fact, she has not attended school for approximately 8 weeks. If this can be proved, would I continue to have to pay child support to the mother?

Re: Do I still have to pay child support?
Based on the information you provided, yes, you still have to pay child support.
The child support obligation ends when the child is emancipated. Emancipating events include: age 18 (or graduation from high school, whichever is later), marriage, or legal emancipation. Leaving the mother's household does not automatically qualify as an emancipating event.
In addition, when your daughter is emancipated, the child support order does not automatically terminate; there are certain steps you must take through the court to terminate your obligation and stop the order.
