Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
personal residence
Debra, I pay bills and recieve my mail here. I also have all my personal belongings as well as my 8 year old sons here. I sold my items (Fridge,beds,table,washer/dryer etc. We have never had a set lease or rental agreement only verbal. He has gone to jail for dosmestic vilonice which I dropped all charges on. There was no reason to hurt him when we were both at fault. Things go good for a while and then he gets upset and tells me to get out! I refuse. I was laid off work and have been doing my best to pay the bills that I agreed to- ie. Power Bill and water bill. (around 450.00) He also runs his company from home and I feel I help with that and have saved him thousand of dollars. Do I have any recorse other than what advise you have already give me? I also forgot to say that I only spend 2 weeks give or take because I don't want my son to indure anything like that again untill we get the help we both need. We are just started going to counceling Thank you so much for your time. I honestly appreciate it very much. Shelley Williams

Re: personal residence
If the home is his, then you are left with little recourse. You're not married, therefore there is no community interest to claim, and you do not have a long term or any written lease. It sounds like you both want a healthier relationship and counseling is the first step. I also agree and commend you on keeping the disputes/battles from your child. These facts will not change until you take steps to secure your rights to be in the home. Good luck.
