Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I picked my 5 yr old son up from his father's last night and he has a bruise/welt in the shape of the belt strap his father uses, on his thigh. There is also a cut that my son told me bled at the time of the incident. His father didn't try to deny it, how could he possibly...but my question is what to do now. My attorney friend said to take my son to the dr or hospital and have them access whether or not to call child protection. So does that mean that the police will come to the hospital and all that drama? I'm afraid that I will be the one punished despite the facts. Can you give me an idea of what may go down?

There is too much to cover via email. DEFINITELY take pictures. DEFINITELY call police. I am not sure a hospital is necessary.

THEN, you should discuss your options as to Father's continued access. YOU COULD FILE FOR AN EMERGENCY MODIFICATION.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
