Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Post divorce issues

My divorce was granted in November 2007. My ex told me that we should only have one attorney represent us in order to save money. I agreed since I am a stay at home mom. He told me that whatever the courts decided as far as support/alimony went he would continue to pay the utilities on our home and he also stated this post divorce in several emails. Now he informs me that he will not help me or give me half of 2 bonuses that he received for 2007. I asked him to only help me until I find a suitable job but he refuses. Do I have any ground to stand on regarding these issues. I do have the emails where he tells me he will help. Thanks

Re: Post divorce issues

It's unclear whether or what the court ordered your ex-husband to pay. The attorney you both went to cannot represent both of you in the event he or she advised you both or acted as a mediator. If you feel that you were induced into signing an agreement based on his written promises, then you may have a good argument. You should have an attorney review the emails and your decree in order to get a better, direct opinion on your situation.
