Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
pregnant unmarried and looking to move
I'm recently pregnant and unwed in Arizona. The father lives here too & I have reason to believe he purposefully got me pregnant. He is 24 years older, without a job, bank account or assets. I'm successful in my corporate job and also my music career, and have many assets. I feel him trying to control me and think it might be best to move from my small town in Arizona to another state with family (maybe Vermont, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania). How do I protect my child and my career from his attempts to control and own me? Thank you!!

Re: pregnant unmarried and looking to move
First, any control this man has is what you give him. Second, he cannot get your assets, those are your separate assets. It sounds like you have a great job and career, so you need to be concerned with what would happen to your job and career if you move. His rights? Once the child is born, he can file a complaint for paternity seeking to legally declare himself as the father and he may ask for visitation. Moving away might stop him for a awhile, but he could simply follow you and the child. You should really sit down with an attorney and discuss your issues. And, congratulations, all children are blessings!
