Quick Marriage

My spouse and I have only been married a week, and we have both completely turned into train wrecks. I have considered checking myself into a depression clinic; it's that bad. He is leaving to go out of the country next month, and we simply want to get a divorce and get it overwith. We have no children and no mutual assets. Since Arizona allows ''no fault'' is it impossible to prove that a marriage so short is irretrievably broken? Will a judge fail to grant the divorce because of the time frame?

In Arizona, all you have to do is ask for a divorce. If YOU are willing to say it is irretrievably broken, then a Judge has no choice but to agree.

The length of your marriage will not hinder a divorce. If at least one of you believes that it is "irretrievably broken," then a judge will not second-guess that.

The process for an uncontested divorce is relatively simple, and does not require the assistance of an attorney; you can find the forms and instructions at www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov, self-service center, forms, family law forms.
