Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
How to get reimbursement from ex-wife
On 2/1/2001, when his divorce was final from his ex, my husband was ordered to pay $500/mo spousal maintenance for 24 months. His ex claimed she was unable to suppport herself. But she is working full time as a private duty nurse. Also, he believes she is re-married and have some evidence of this. In addition, he has repaid (thru garnishment) a debt she incurred during the marriage, but unknown to him. She did not include the debt in the Petition for Divorce. I know this is pretty sketchy, but I'm trying to cover the circumstances as briefly as possible. Let me know if you need additional information.

If he can prove she has remarried, spousal should cease immediately. She may even owe him some of it back. Also, he can seek reimbursement for the undisclosed debt. I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. There is too much to cover via e'mail (and I am not the greatest typist). We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.
Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Cathy to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation. I look forward to talking with you.
