Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Relocate for job opportunity since I can't find one in AZ

My ex and I have joint custody of our

2 year old. Our child lives with me

and his visitation is Wednesday

nights and every other weekend. I

was laid off late last year and have

been trying to seek employment in

AZ but still have been unable to find

anything. I have a very good job

offer to relocate out of state. What

are the chances the court would

allow me to relocate with our child

during the economic times of high

rate of unemployment?

Re: Relocate for job opportunity since I can't find one in AZ

I cannot give you a statistical percentage. I can tell you that relocation is hard. On the other hand, the court has to weigh all important factors including the new job and its ability to better both your economic and the child's economic situation. There are many factors set forth in the A.R.S. 25-408 and 403 you want to look at.

Let me know if there is anything we can do to assist you.
