Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

re-marry

Im residing in the US for 7 years now with my son. Im married in the country I came from. Me and my wife have been separated since then. I want to remarry here. Do I need to divorce her first before I could remarry?

Re: re-marry

You didnt mention which country you come from. Generally, the State of Arizona recognizes as valid marriages done outside of Arizona. There are a few exceptions, but more facts would have to be considered. You should consult with an attorney who can review the Arizona laws in relation to your native country. It may be that you will have to get a divorce first. I work in Southern Arizona but I could do a consultation with you via the phone. (There would be a fee for the consultation.) If you do need to get a divorce, you can file on your own or hire a local attorney.
