Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I am a resident of the state of Arizona and was recently married in October 2009. My husband would like to legally adopt my 4 year old daughter who is not his biological child. My daughter's biological father also resides in AZ. Do we have to process the adoption through a lawyer or is this something we can do on our own through the courts? And if the biological father does not want to consent to the adoption is there still a way for us to go through with the adoption? Thank you.

You can represent yourselves (pro se) or hire an attorney. Either way, if a biological parent does not consent to the adoption, it will not go through, unless the court involuntarily relinquishes his parental rights for a showing of non-involvement, etc.
