Response to petition for custody/support

I am being sued by the father of my 12 year old son for sole custody and child support (with no reasonable explanation) in the state of Arizona. I live in Boise Idaho. I am disabled, have end stage renal failure and am awaiting a kidney pancreas transplant. Can I ask the court for a postponement until I can prepare a response. My husband and I are bankrupt due to the medical costs and are in a temporary state of extreme financial distress.

Is your son in Arizona? If so, that's why he is asserting claims here. If you have never lived in Arizona, you might try to ask the court to dismiss the case because the court lacks jurisdiction over you.
