Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Reviewing a response to a motion

I am the Petitioner in an annulment case and uneducated in the language of law. Due to financial restraints I cannot hire a lawyer at this time but need to respond to a motion filed by the Respondent in Arizona. The Respondent is well versed on court proceedings. Knowing that each state does things different is there someone I can consult in my state of Nevada on my response to make sure the format is correct and the language is acceptable? The people I have so far contacted will not talk to me because the case is not in my state.

Re: Reviewing a response to a motion

If you want to have it reviewed in Nevada, you should find someone who is also licensed in Arizona, AND FAMILIAR WITH ARIZONA COURTS.

Otherwise, you may simply need to send it to an Arizona attorney to insure that it is appropriate.

In our office, we could open a file for you for as little as $500, and could review your format and content and make appropriate suggestions.

Please contact me directly if you would like to discuss this further.

Re: Reviewing a response to a motion

If I understand the question correctly, your case is located in AZ but you are located in NV. If you are seeking an attorney located in NV who is able to answer an AZ question, you must find someone who is licensed to practice in both states. I would recommend calling the State Bar of Arizona (or checking the website at www.azbar.org) and cross-referencing Arizona and Nevada.

Another option is to communicate via fax/email etc. with an attorney actually located in AZ.
