Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

When my ex and I sat down with the custody paperwork for our daughter, we filled out a joint-custody agreement. Because I was the only one working, she went down and filed it for us, but she filled a different agreement and forged my signature. Now she is trying to get sole custody, giving me no visitation. I have 20 days to respond. How do I go about proving she forged the paperwork?

Do you have a copy of the document you signed? Does the forged signature clearly differ from your actual signature? You definitely want to respond within the 20 day timeframe so that the court knows that your position differs from what she filed (whether or not you can prove the forgery). I recommend you speak with an attorney so you can determine your best course of action.

Not sure. I would need to know more about how everythingw as handled. perhaps OTHER documents signed at or near the sme time which were not forged would show your true agreement.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options in responding. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
