What happens if spouse cannot be located to serve divorce papers.

Under certain circumstances, legal papers can be published in the newspaper if the other party cannot be located. The rules are different depending on the situation.

Note that if you do serve by publication (rather than personal service), the court is limited in the orders it can make.
