Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Getting Served

I found out my husband filed for divorce. He did this on July 5th. It's now July 21 and I have not been served. I would like to get this over with and sign a waiver of some sort. Can I sign some sort of paper and file it myself, or do I have to wait for HIM to serve me?

I went to the court house and read what was in the complaint. I agree with what's in it. I wish he'd hurry and serve the papers, but I fear he's changed his mind and is wanting to reconcile. I want to push this divorce along as quickly as possible. Is there anything I can do that does not involve talking to my bully of a husband who doesn't even yet know that I know he's filed for divorce?

Re: Getting Served

If you filed a response, he could not then dismiss the case unless you agreed to dismiss it. Thus, you could push the case to conclusion even over his objection.

We can absolutely help.

I can explain the procedures better by phone or in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via e'mail. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss the matter in more detail.

Please call me directly to discuss the specifics of your case, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
