Single fathers parental rights

I am the father of a 6 year old little girl whose mother(that I was never married to)has recently been incarcerated for 3 to 5 years.My child has my (last) name on her birth certificate and social security card.I have been told my childs mother has signed custodial rights for 6mo. To my child's half sister and another person I dont even know.My child has lived with me since birth,and I have taken care of her (mostly allone)untill 3mo.ago when I developed a knee problem and have recently underwent atotal knee replacement.I love my little girl dearly,And I consider myself a law abiding citezen.I want my child to live with me as she has since birth.What parental rights do I have? And what steps must I take to get my little girl back?

Your rights take precedent over anyone else's rights (including half-sister), and Mother cannot deprive those from you without taking specific Court action.

However, you will need to seek appropriate Court orders.
