Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My Sister-In-Law Wants a Divorce But Has No Money

My sister-in-law wants a divorce. She moved out of the home she shared with her husband and 17 year old son in Arizona. The son stayed with the father. She moved to Wisconsin. She has no money and right now no job. Her husband will not help her financially and has total control of any assets they have. If she files for a legal separation, would her husband have to help her financially? Can you get a divorce with no money? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. She feels the only answer is to go back. Thank you.

She can file pro se (without an attorney) and can get a form to get filing fee waived. At the same time, she could get scheduled a hearing to get a temporary order. The order might require him to pay her some support. It depends on the circumstances.
