Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

A small child receives an insurance settlement for an accident. The parents spent part of the settlement and tied the rest up in their own personal and real estate investments. The real estate has the child's name on the investment. The child, now an adult, has asked for the money. The parents are refusing the give the settlement, or what's left of it, to the adult. What legal rights does the adult have in regards to getting back the full settlement?

Sounds like a conservatorship was not set up for the child which would have protected his property. However, if the child/adult's name is on the property then he should be able to track his investment. The now adult needs to consult with an attorney about partitioning the property or other options of pulling out his interest.
