my son 16 yr is in jail for along time do i pay child support

You might be relieved of the obligation to pay child support, but you must file something with the court to terminate/modify your obligation (it doesn't happen automatically just because he is incarcerated. I recommend you speak with an attorney for additional information and to discuss your best course of action.
I have never looked into that exact issue, but I believe a strong argument can be made that you should not be paying support, at least not to the other parent.
