Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My step son is seventeen. He is refusing to come for visitation, and if he is pushed into being here he will take off in his car first chance he gets.He wrote us a note saying he wants to be emansipated . What does this do to the child support payments if he lives with his mother full time?

It's called emancipation, and a court must agree to it. If a child is emancipated they are treated in many respects like an adult. That includes no child support, regardless of where the minor lives. Good luck!
