Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I have twin babies the father and mother are threatening to take full custody of y children because he does not want to pay child support. He has a criminal record and is a felon. He thinks because he workd and has a house he's a better fit parent. I provide for my children, have housing and the basics. Can he get custody?
