Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My wife and I divorced in May 2012 in AZ. She was granted sole legal custody of our two daughters (ages 11 & 16). The divorce decree granted me parenting time twice a week. My ex-wife has been mean and bitter to me and has alienated me from my daughters. My ex-wife has refused to let me visit my daughters since April 2013. The judge sided with her and told me to attend intervention therapy with my daughters. After 4 therapy sessions with my daughters, the therapist determined that my daughters refused to engage in reunification activities with me. The therapist's recommendation to the court was to cancel future TI sessions. He further recommended that my daughters receive individual counseling to address their past issues with me, their father. As of this date, I have not seen or visited my daughters for 6 months. My ex-wife is still not letting me visit them or contact them. What are my legal recourse in this situation?

I would need many more facts about your case before giving a detailed response, but generally I would recommend a Petition to Enforce of to modify prior Orders. Simply having no relationship at all is not in their best interest. Is there a family member of yours they are close to? Perhaps we could suggest a supervisor everyone is happy with in the meantime.

We do offer free 30 minute consultations where we can discuss the specifics of your case so we ensure an accurate response. 623-748-8973.

Best of luck!
