Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I will retire in 2011 with 32.5 year pension. If I marry before I officially retire in 2011 will my future husband be entitled to any part of my pension if we should ever divorce?

TECHNICALLY, he may gain some very, very small amount, based upon whatever percentage of the retirement was accrued during the marriage. (i.e. 1/2 of of 3 months divided by 32.5 years IF you married 3 months before retirement).

While you may not really need it, we could draft a simple and inexpensive premarital agreement for you.

Please call or email me directly if you wish to discuss such. [email protected].
