Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
I currently work as an intermitent employee (contractor) in a foreign country. If I file divorce I understand child support will based on what we both make at the time of settlement but my job is due to end the mid 2012 as we had agreed when I took the job. Is there going to be a legal issue in modifying child support when my contract is due to end?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Child support is always modifiable based upon a "significant and continuing change".
Perhaps, if proceeding by agreement, you both could agree on an automatic change at that time, if you know what your then financial circumstances will be.
We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.
One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
