Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

my x-wife and i are coming to new agreements in are child support and we are writing up an affidavit together and plan on filling a petition to court to follow.. my question is i am in arrears and she is putting on the affidavit that i am paid up on arrears and the sum is now null and void will this hold up in court. can this come back to bit me

She absolutely can WAIVE arrears. However, it would be wise to allow an attorney to draft or at least review the waiver to insure that it will stick.
