Fire damage caused by neighbors garage burning

neighbors garage caught fire,no one there, cause undetermend.he did not have libility insurance. fire spread to my property causing major damage. My insurance covered most of the repair and replacement of property. is he responsible for my uninsured damage, a boat and trailer and a vehicle.damage amount about $7000.00. The fire happend on June 22,2000. Is there a time limit for any action if he is libel. any advice is greatly appriciated.

If the neighbor created a negligent situation, or negligently permitted a situation to exist which allowed a fire and caused you damage, then he is legally liable for the consequences of his negligence and therefore for your economic loss.

Proving such negligence is often difficult or impossible.
