Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Arizona
My husband commited suicide on 1/31/10 he signed a promissory note with his best friend who is now suing me for the funds. The check was made payable to my husbands corporation not him personally to pay back a corporate debt, this was signed in 2006 can they sue me for this? I have nothing, no life insurance, etc, please advise.

Your husband's personal signature alone does not expose you, i.e. the community, to liability. In Arizona, there is a 6 year statute of limitations within which to file an action for breach. It's a little unclear as to who was paying back the corporate debt. You're welcome to contact my office for a consultation, and we do offer telephone consults.
