I need to know if the board of nursing has the right to disclose my medical records to my employers ?

I did give them permission to review my records but not to show to others.

Re: patient medical records

There are state and federal regulations of medical records. Here it is impossible to know the answer from your general question.

The degree of protection offered to medical records depends on several factors. I understand that you may not want to further broadcast your situation because you don't mention in detail why the records were created, who created the records, and why the nursing board has them. You also don't mention who your employer is and why the Board of Nursing may have disclosed your medical records.

If you feel there was a breach of your privacy, then you should decide whether you want to confidentially consult with an attorney where he or she can obtain more private details in order to give you a specific answer to your question.

Best of luck.
