Can I sue?

i have a roommate who moved out 6 months ago without any notice, but he is still on the lease. he also wants to be taken off the lease, but everytime he wants to do so it is inconveinent. my question is can i sue him for the 6 months of half the rent and half of the electric bill for the past 6 months even though he is still on the lease and not living in the apartment?

If he owes you money and you can prove it you have a cause of action against him regardless of the fact that he is on the lease and isn't living there.
