Legal Question in Immigration Law in Arizona

citizenship of my children

I am a male U.S. citizen who had children with a female Mexican citizen. The children were born in Mexico. I would like to know if my children would legally be allowed to live with me in the U.S.

Re: citizenship of my children

They may be entitled to U.S. citizenship assuming certain requirements were met, which will depend on when they were born.

For example, children born out of wedlock to a U.S. citizen father and Mexican mother, are eligible for naturalization if:

1. the father was physically present in the US five years prior to the child's birth (2 of which are after the age of 14), and

2. blood relationship can be established between the father and child, the father is a U.S. citizen at the time of the child's birth, father agrees in writing to support the child until 18 years, and while the child is under 18 years: i)child is legitimated, ii)father acknowledges paternity, or iii) paternity established by court adjudication.
