Legal Question in Immigration Law in Arizona

derivative citizenship through father

well, we are concerned about the right my husband may have through the ''derivative citizenship'' because he was born in mexico but his dad was an un citizen, veteran on war, but unfortunately, he is dead now... considering that he was born in 1984, and we have all the paper work that proves who his ather was, is there a posibility that he might obtain derivative citizenship?

Re: derivative citizenship through father

There is a possibility of derivative citizenship, but I would need to know more information first - what years his father lived in the US, and whether his mother and father were married, and whether his father had a relationship with him, including financial support. If you would like to contact my office directly we can review the details of your sitution.

There are only a few possibilities when it comes to derivative citizenship. And in order to determine that, you need to answer a lot of questions -- in short, it isn't that easy. Find a good immigration lawyer who knows citizenship issues. Feel free to contact my office for a consultation regarding derivative citizenship, or contact web site www.seglegal.com. Good luck!
