Legal Question in Immigration Law in Arizona
I am a Mexican living and working in Mexico in the Information Technology field. For personal reasons I need to travel to the US and stay there for about 3 or 4 weeks. I will be staying in the house of some relatives that I have there. After that, I will be returning to Mexico.
Due to the nature of my work, I am able to work pretty much from anywhere in the world, as long as I have my laptop and an internet connection. I have my valid US B1/B2 visa, and I have never been in any kind of trouble in my previous trips to the US over the years.
My question is, will I be breaking any law if I work from the US during this period of time?
I will not be switching employers at any time, and it will be a temporary situation. I dont think there is a problem since people do this all the time these days (respond work e-mails on their mobile devices while they are traveling, etc.) in this global environment, but I thought of asking anyway. Thanks!

You are not violating any laws by working for your Mexican employer from you laptop while here in the U.S. You are not supposed to take a job in the U.S. if you are not authorized to work here, but that does not apply in the situation as you described it.
