Legal Question in Immigration Law in Arizona
Permanent Resident - divorce
Hi. I married a man from Panama in ''good faith''. I loved him very much. He received his conditional ''green card'' two years ago. Now, we are divorcing, and he states the only reason he married me in the first place was for his papers, and that he never felt anything for me throughout the four years we were married. This was all news to me. He says he faked everything with me. Now, he wants to divorce me right away to marry someone else (who he had an affair with while we were married). What can I do? Or what should I do?

Re: Permanent Resident - divorce
Madam
I have seen your posting, and I must warn you before giving any advice, that I do not practice in your jurisdiction, but in another Common Law Jurisdiction.
In your posting, I have seen that there has been a singular lack of Good faith on the part of your spouce, and a Sham Marriage was undergone by him to procure entry in the US. I feel that this matter may be best put beore the INS authorities, who should place this material upon record, and when the final Green Card Proceedings are held this material should be used against him. Also you may contact a Civil Law Attorney in your area to try him for Lack of Good Faith in marriage.
Please ge tin touch with me if you need any general advice.
