does a petitioner wanted by law has anything to fear during an immigration inter

Does a petitioner (my father) has anything to fear when he goes with me to the immigration interview to complete my immigration process? My father has warrants due to tickets and dwi.

In a post 9/11 world, the INS does a variety of different types of security checks, which we believe now includes the petitioner. I have heard anecdotal evidence of petitioners being picked up at interviews on outstanding warrants and turned over to law enforcement. Why can't the petitioner clean up his situtation, pay the outstanding tickets and turn himself in to the court long before the interview? That would be the prudent thing to do.
