Legal Question in Insurance Law in Arizona
Accident with U-haul trailer
I got into an accident with a uhaul trailer several months ago and I did not purchase the insurance. My car insurance only covers $500. The insurance company representing u-haul stated that the trailer was a total loss and want to charge me $4500. I don't know if this is a reasonable amount for an old trailer but it seems excessive. Is a legal consult regarding the amount worth it for me?

Re: Accident with U-haul trailer
Not knowing anything about the specs of the trailer, size, age, open or closed, etc. I cannot judge the value. Check sale listings, internet, dealers etc for similar trailers. Also, you could get an appraisal from an expert in trailers. Check with a local dealer. See an attorney to attempt to negotiate a compromise, make payments, etc. We represent accident victims, not those at fault, and do not handle property damage cases, only injury cases in our office.
Best regards.
