Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Arizona

Copyrights as pertaining to flags.

I have designed a flag that I would like to market. Do you copyright or patent a flag? This design could be bought and displayed anywhere you would see an American flag.

You can protect a flag by design patent and/or copyright. I've done both, including a design patent for the flag of the City of Alpena. If you have questions or would like forms please call me at 800-872-8368 or email to [email protected].

You could obtain either a copyright or a design patent for a flag design. Copyright is much cheaper to obtain and the term will last much longer than a design patent. If you have any more questions, please feel fee to call 469-371-3082.
