Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona

After 7 years of continuous, favorable employment, I was terminated due to insubordination and the entire grievance process was a mess and my former employer claimed insubordination and hostile work environment although the documentation did not support this. It was derived from undocumented complaints from a pair of employees (sisters), however they lied in a hearing. I made it through all of this and have moved on to seek a job in my area of experience, but it has been hard because I am truthful and put "termination" as my reason for leaving the company. I also put my former supervisor's name and number so they can call for reference. I suspect that this former supervisor is giving a bad reference and even a slanderous one since many of the employee's comments were never documented and I was not made aware of such comments and "complaints" until the hearing, so therefore, when I was an employee, did not have an opportunity to defend myself. I felt like I was being bullied by upper management and a co-worker. They made me out to be a volatile, harassing employee in statements during the hearing. What can I do since it has been two years and have not been able to find a full time job?

An employer can terminate you for any reason or no reason at all. In a bad economy where jobs are scarce, it doesn't take much for an employer to simply hire someone else. The only thing you can do is keep looking for a better place to work.
