In order to answer this question, we would need additional information. Based upon the question, it appears that the individuals may have been either employees or independent contractors. Although you indicate the the person quit, we are not sure if that means that they were employed by your company. When you say that they were assigned accounts, we are not sure if that means that they were given a work assignment or an assignment agreement. Those facts make a difference in providing you with a legal analysis of your situation. It is difficult to determine what the terms of the relationship was without more information. If you would like a specific response to your question, you may contact Stephanie Coulter of this office at 602 462 1004 to arrange a time to provide additional information.
