Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona
I signed a non-compete agreement in AZ for my last job in 2006. I left the company in 2015 (about 11 months ago). It has a duration of 2 years with no step-down clauses. There is no other mention of duration in the contract. The 2 years seems an unreasonable duration, based on what I've read. Two questions - is it generally a safe assumption that 2 years will eb deemed unreasonable? If a court agrees and strickes this clause, does that mean the rest of the contract is no longer valid (since there is no other timeframe)?
