Am I suppose to get paid for a mandatory meeting and the 50 minute drive there?

Depends on whether you are exempt or non-exempt employee.... if you are a salaried employee who is exempt from over time pay, you probably are not entitled to anything but your salary since you are not an "hourly" employee who is entitled to overtime.... in other words... by paying you as a salaried employee, you are getting paid for the time anyway.
