Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona

wrongful termination

this is a long story but i will try to make it short.for the past month i have been harassed by a new supervisor. and i have went to him to see how we can work this out. but i only made matters worse. then my husband went to the project supervisor and he was only told he was to close the complaint since i was his wife. but they have allowed me to work under my husband for 7 months.my husband has been with this company for 8 years.well last tuesday i called the home office to make a formal complaint. after going through the chain of command and getting no where. well we were both let go two days later.i find it very funny that this new supervior was just fine until we all went out one night. and when i would not leave with him that night... well the following monday he became a jerk. and things have gotten worse since. yelling at me for things i did not do.in front of other people, telling me he would personally fire me,and he is not my direct supervisor. but he was my husbands.please let me. any info would be helpful. i have wrote down everything.ohhh the big boss told my husband he was being let go because of the conflict between him and the new supervisor....thanks

Re: wrongful termination

The behaviors you have described sounds like a sexual harassment situation and "retaliation" for reporting it. Both sexual harassment in the workplace and retaliation for reporting harassment are a violation of the law. At this point, the best thing for you to do is probably to call the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) nearest you and report this situation. They will investigate your claim, and take legal action if they believe the company is violating the law. Remedies may include reinstatement, compensation and/or other consequences. The EEOC tries very hard to investigate these claims quickly. You may also wish to hire an employment lawyer to pursue your case privately (EEOC will also pursue your case at the same time). I do employment mediation, and do not take cases like yours, but if you need help finding a lawyer who handles this sort of matter, please feel free to call or e-mail me. The numbers for the Phoenix EEOC offices are below. If you live in Tucson or elsewhere, just look them up in the phone book:
