Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Arizona
Breaking a Lease
I have signed a year lease for my apartment complex two months ago. Two nights ago my aunt and uncle we attacked by a tenent and his brother walked up to my apartment door. Luckily my uncle was able to hold the guy down until the police came to arrest them both. I don't want to live here now because of this, I feel threatened and unsafe. We are very worried about retailiation. How can I break my lease without having to pay?

Re: Breaking a Lease
Need more details but I believe a judge would want to see more security (locks, alarms, video) installed before ordering a "constructive eviction" allowing you to breach lease.
Call or email for further consultation. I have been a Landlord for over 25 years.
