Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Arizona
I lived in a apartment for 5 days after signing the lease. But had to move out do to my mother's illness. i paid forst and last months rent. Now after 7yrs the apartment com[lex is sending me to court for twice the value of the rent. Is there a grace period after leasing and leaving the apartment?

The landlord should not be able to make a claim after 7 years, the statute of limitations would prevent them from getting a judgment. If they sued and properly served you 7 years ago, and got a judgement against you, then that is a different story and they could attempt to collect on their judgment. You should get experienced legal counsel, to see what defenses you may have to their claim now.
