Can a landlord refuse to house/rent to a section 8 tenant in Arizona (maricopa county)?

I am not sure, but I think you can. But since many people getting Section 8 are members of minority groups, you may be opening yourself up to a discrimination complaint if you are not careful, especially if the Section 8 would pay all of the rent you are asking. If it does not provide for an adequate security deposit or limits the amount of money you can collect for physical damage that you could anticipate might occur, then you have a stronger case [or your building does not meet all the requirements of Section 8 dwellings, some of which are stupid]. Keep detailed notes as to why prospective tenants were accepted or denied the rental.
