Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Arizona

my ex-husbands ex-wife of 10 years has been harrassing my mother by phone calls and text messages for the whole family to take part in her paying for my ex-husbandsd hospital and funeral cost. No verbal or written permission was given because she and her daughter wanted to handle the whole affair themselves. Also, this woman has been harrqassing us since 1992, but no one would do anything because her sister works for the Phoenix Police Department, so she would always have an advantage over my family. Please help!!!! It is still continuing even after my ex-husbands death as of 4/29/12

The easiest way to stop harassing phone calls is to block the number or let the call go to voice mail where it can rot... You don't have to respond to or even read the text messages. If it is just phone calls and text messages, it is cheaper to just ignore them then to hire a lawyer to help. You can get a protective order only if there is a threat of harm and I do not see the threat. If you don't want to be bothered with them, tell them to stop calling or texting. Your mother can do this without a lawyer.
