Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Arizona

Do we have a case?

6 months ago, my mother had seen her dr. for vomiting, loss of appetite, loss of bladder control, extreme abdominal pain, and problems walking. She had the symptoms for a week and they had gotten worse each day. The day of her appointment, her doctor layed her down (upon which my mother screamed out in pain)gave her a urinalysis, which came back with evidence of blood and high levels of protein. She was sent home after being told she would have to return 6 days later for more extensive testing. That an infection was suspected, my mom is 73 years old, and was sent home in pain, no pain killers, and no antibiotics even though they suspected infection. 3 days later she was admitted for emergency surgery due to a ruptured colon, her entire system was poisoned, with gangrene present in her bowels! The surgeon said the poison (caused by fecal matter released into the blood stream) had been there 2 or 3 days! Do we have a chance with malpractice against the doc who sent her home without proper testing? Thanks, Tracey

Re: Do we have a case?

Dear Tracy,

As you can see, I enjoy my work at all hours. My goal is to provide you with the best service I am able to give. Your case sounds like it is winnable, however, I need more information. My regular "attack" on this type of case is to consult my staff doctor about the possibility of malpractice. Please call me at (480)419-9584 so we can discuss further.

I will be in Minnesota from June 22-26 for my mother's 95th b-day.

Hope all is well with you.

John
