Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Arizona

Do I have a case?

A nurse practitioner put me on xanax for anxiety. She switched me to Klonopin so I wouldn't have to

worry about seizures if I run out, so she said.

She decided one day it was time to get off the med.She suggested I go into a treatment center for 4-6 weeks. I said no, she said she would write no more scrpts.

I figured if there was no possiblity for seizure, I would go off cold turkey. Since then, everything I have read about Klonopin states you should never stop treatment abruptly! As such, on day five, I had severe fits. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. When I spoke with the nurse practitioner, this was the first I learned I could be seizing. My symptoms were a combination of Parkinson's and Tourrettes. I was sent home and told to contact this nurse practitioner. I continued to tremor and speak involuntarily for days. It has been six weeks since the beginning of withdrawal. It has been pure hell, and I am upset that my nurse practitioner did not follow the guidelines for all

benzodiazapine withdrawal, which is slow withdrawal.

I have seen a medical dr., and she would like me to see a neurologist for continued facial tremors. The med can stay

in your fatty tissue for months. Didn't know that either!
