It is unlikely Chesapeake will be responsible for his conduct. In most states, for an employer for be liable for their employees conduct, the employee must be acting in the "course and scope of their employment". Additionally, the employee's conduct must be in part in service to their employer. It is unlikely that this type of conduct will be found to be in the course and scope of your ex-boyfriend's employment and unlikely that when he was assaulting you he was acting in part in the service of his employer. Further, outrageous conduct on the part of an employee is generally not the responsibility of the employer. This is clearly outrageous conduct. This sound like more of a criminal matter. Your ex-boyfriend should be prosecuted for assault.
